The short version
Glowmeter has no accounts. Your photos, your results and your quiz answers are kept on your phone. To read your skin areas, your selfie is sent to a service called AILabTools through Glowmeter’s server, and neither of them keeps it for us. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
Who we are
Glowmeter is published by Apphive Technologies, based in Bengaluru, India. For anything in this policy, write to support@apphive.tech.
What happens to your selfie
When you take a scan, the photo goes from your phone to Glowmeter’s server, which passes it on to AILabTools. The server does this so it can check that the request comes from a real copy of the app, your plan, and your weekly limit.
AILabTools analyses the face in the photo: light, sharpness and angle and, for members, your ten skin areas. It receives the selfie and nothing else about you: no name, no email, and no ID for you or your phone. Its published policy says uploaded photos are not stored and are not used for training.
Glowmeter’s server stores no photo, no score, no age and no written text. To count your weekly scans, it keeps counters and, for 15 minutes after a scan, a fingerprint that cannot be used to rebuild the photo.
A scan that fails, or is rejected because of photo quality, does not use your weekly allowance.
What stays on your phone
Your photos, your results, your product tests and your quiz answers are kept on your phone to show your progress, until you delete the app or its data. They are not backed up by Glowmeter and there is no sync between devices. Quiz answers never leave your phone.
Anthropic
Some features use Anthropic’s Claude to write short summaries and tips and to read a product label. Anthropic never receives a photo of your face. It receives numbers and short labels about your results, and photos of product labels that you choose to take.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Glowmeter uses RevenueCat to confirm which plan you have. RevenueCat identifies your device with a random ID generated by the app, not your name or email. Read RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Apple services
Glowmeter uses Apple’s App Attest and DeviceCheck so its server can tell a genuine copy of the app from an imitation. These do not reveal who you are.
What we never do
- Create accounts, or ask for your name or email.
- Show ads or sell your data.
- Track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
- Give you a skin score, a skin age or a beauty rating.
Your choices and rights
Because your photos and results are on your phone, deleting the app removes them. If you are in a place with data protection rights, such as the EU or UK, you can ask us what we hold, and ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to support@apphive.tech. As our server stores no photos, scores or text, there is little for us to hold, but we will tell you exactly what there is.
Age
Glowmeter is for adults and is rated 18+ in the App Store. It is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and the date at the top.
